“"Just throw me in the mountains, with some music and my friends"” - Curt Buchan
Born and raised in the hills of Upstate New York, Curt has his sights set on writing and performing a style described as country roots and mountain folk. The 24-year-old singer/songwriter finds inspiration through artists such as John Denver, Evan Felker(Turnpike Troubadours), Bob Dylan, and Charles Wesley Godwin. While growing up in the rural Hudson Valley, Curt spends his free time fly fishing, hunting, and writing songs. With aspirations of becoming a touring artist, Curt is a young adult learning the lessons of this life he’s living. For the past year, Curt has played shows around the county and branching out in neighboring states like Vermont and Massachusetts while also performing across the country through Colorado, Nashville, and West Virginia. On his way out to Arizona in the winter of 2024, Curt recorded his first studio record with West Virginian producer, Zach McCord, in Clarksburg, WV. The 5 track EP titled, "Old Soul", released in August of 2024, reflects on Curts experience so far in life. Heartbreak, hard-decisions, and figuring out this crazy world are all themes you see in this record.
"An Old Soul searching for a place in society, where he can do the things he loves, and be all he can be".
From the title track, "Old Soul", Curt reflects on who he truly is and what he only needs to be a happy man. This record is about the simple things. With his dream of heading west in search of something new, music will always follow him wherever he goes.
